Matt has over 19 years of law enforcement experience, with 11 of those years as a Reconstructionist. He was drawn to the field of crash investigation early in his career and became one of the youngest Reconstructionist in his department. He has investigated over 2,000 injury and non-injury accidents, with over 25 of them being fatal crashes.
His investigations have involved commercial motor vehicles, passenger vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles, and pedestrian collisions. The types of analysis he has performed have been (but not limited to): airbag control module downloading and analysis, airborne events, conservation of linear momentum, crush damage/energy, speed/time/distance analysis, and occupant kinematics.
Matt had also spent 4 years as a School Resource Officer and was a guest speaker in numerous Science, Math, and Physics classes. While in the classroom, he introduced the physics, math, and technical aspects involved with crash reconstruction.
Matt was also awarded the Medal of Valor from his department for life saving actions, along with multiple letters of accommodations during his law enforcement career.
